Project Status
Week of 03-06-19
Project is: ON TRACK
Issues / Extra progress from last week:
-
Budget - Depending on batteries ordered we are in jeopardy of exceeding budget
Accomplished this week:
Machined Parts:
-
Rear Wheel Spacers
-
Swing arm spacers
-
motor face plate spacers
-
battery enclosure forward mount
Redesign:
-
Redesigned sprocket guard for chain clearance
-
Measured angle needed for clearance
-
updated motor face plate and guard
Waterjet:
-
Arrangements have been made with Jeremy Cornwall in Randolph for Friday 3-15
-
Acquired all materials needed for parts
-
Nested all 1/8" thick parts into one sheet 19.5" x 24"
1/4 Al alloy; 6061-T6
3/16 Al alloy; 6061-T6
1/8 Al alloy; 6061-T6
New Design - Shroud Brace
-
The removal of the radiators has left the left shroud on the fuel tank unsupported. A 1/8" thick aluminum shroud brace has been designed to support the shroud.
-
To speed up the design process a template was created from a cereal box. This made modifying the shape and hole locations quick and simple.
-
Once the design template was a good fit measurements were taken and a model was created in Solidworks.
Batteries - IMR
-
Need to place order
-
Looking for more individuals/groups to buy bulk
-
LG 18650, 3500mAh, 10A
Electrical
-
Began code for throttle pot
-
Continued code for motor driver
-
Continued circuit design for motor driver
-
(Hopefully we will have some videos/pictures of the circuitry and code at work soon)
Goals for next week:
-
Start 3D printing 18650 battery frames
-
Design PCB
-
Order PCB
